Corneal & Anterior Eye Problems

Collagen Cross linking

Collagen Cross-linking has become a well-established treatment for keratoconus, it works by stiffening the cornea in much the same way as happens naturally with age. If cross-linking were totally safe it would be carried out on all patients how have keratoconus, but there is a small risk of making the vision worse with this procedure, so accurate measurements of the corneal shape (corneal topography) are carried out to make sure that the condition is getting worse before recommending treatment.
