Fuchs Endothelial Dystrophy - Treatment

Fuchs Endothelial Dystrophy - Non-surgical Treament

In its earliest stages, when the vision is blurred, but clears during the day, two different techniques may help to clear the cornea and therefore the vision.

Hypertonic Saline - using strong saline (salt-water) drops can draw water out of the cornea and help to clear the vision

Hairdryer treatment - this sonds extremely strange, but many sufferers find this of benefit. Gently drying the eyes with the draft from a hairdryer causes evaporation of the tears and helps to draw water out of the cornea. Care must be taken with this technique as too much treatment can leave the eyes feeling sore.
